The Fully Networked Car

Under the auspices of the World Standards Cooperation, IEC, ISO and ITU participated in the third “Fully Networked Car” workshop held during the Geneva International Motorshow. At this event, highlighting the role of International Standards in the automotive sector, Shuji Hirakawa, Secretary of IEC TC 100: Audio, video and multimedia systems and equipment, made a presentation on Audio, Video and Multimedia Standards for fully networked cars.

It also provides the complete list of IECEE Members, their contact details and regulatory requirements, and their scope.

The World of the IEC video

A new, animated video, aimed at those who are new to the IEC, was made available on the IEC website. It takes the viewer on a short journey through the “World” of IEC Standards and Conformity Assessment. The two-minute video demonstrates how IEC Standards and Conformity Assessment systems are required in a large variety of environments, such as electricity generation, transmission and distribution, trains, planes and automobiles, manufacturing of electronics, not forgetting in the home, on the street, in hospitals and schools. The new IEC video is intended to become an essential gateway to the world of IEC for those new to the Commission.
