Promotion of IEC solar work
IECEE Executive Secretary Pierre de Ruvo participated in the 23rd European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU PVSEC) in Valencia, Spain, one of the world’s largest events in that field. Because the IECEE PV Scheme is a truly international certification programme, based on IEC International Standards, this event was the perfect opportunity to promote it to an international audience. In his presentation, IECEE PV Programme – The best tool to facilitate trade of photovoltaics in the global market, de Ruvo explained how industry and government can benefit from the globally recognized certification system to ensure quality and improve safety. |
E-business workshop in Geneva
Recognizing that public-private partnerships have been instrumental in developing and exploiting standards for electronic business ("e-business") across administrations, industry and the public, and that they show even more promise for the future, the IEC, together with ISO, ITU-T, OASIS, UN/ECE and UPU, organized an international workshop on Advancing public-private partnerships for e-business standards. The conference, held in Geneva, Switzerland on 18-19 September, aimed to foster a better understanding of the public-private partnerships through which stakeholders collaborate to develop e-business standards. A further objective is to identify steps that might be taken to significantly enhance the benefits of recent achievements and work in progress, as well as to address emerging new requirements. |
