IEC publications in Spanish language now available
Following an agreement reached between the International
Electrotechnical Commission and AENOR,
the Spanish Standards Association in early April, some 1000 Spanish
language versions of IEC's most popular international standards
and publications are now available for sale. All the publications
have been translated and produced by AENOR. As part of the agreement,
the publications will be updated and maintained by AENOR.
The agreement to jointly market and sell these official
Spanish language translations of the IEC publications will make
use of the IEC Web Store
facility and the AENOR
Web Store facility.
The IEC Web Store offers the possibility to download
portable document format (PDF) electronic versions of the publications
or to order paper versions. The Spanish language versions of the
publications can be found easily, with the Spanish title of those
publications available in Spanish appearing as the second option
on search results.
The AENOR Web Store offers the possibility to consult
the Catalogue of IEC publications available in Spanish, as well
as to order paper versions.
This agreement, officially announced by IEC General
Secretary Ronnie Amit at a joint PASC
(Pacific Area Standards Congress) and COPANT
(Pan American Standards Commission) meeting in Colombia in late
April, was welcomed very positively by the IEC's hispanic community.
