PREVIEW IEC STANDARDS IN PDF

The IEC is offering its clients the option to look at PDF previews of its publications to help them with purchasing decisions. This new tool gives a detailed view of every publication and thus enhances the general bibliographical information given in the IEC Catalogue of Publications.

The IEC Catalogue, formerly issued on a yearly basis and now updated daily for electronic consultation, helps readers to find those documents that interest them. The Catalogue lists the titles and gives a brief summary (an abstract) of all currently valid publications and is the indispensable guide for anyone who uses IEC publications.

However, the IEC Customer Service Centre found that clients wanted to know more about IEC publications before buying them and created a new option: previews of standards in PDF (portable document format). At a mouse-click the computer screen displays the title page, the contents list, the foreword, the scope and the normative references of each entry.

PDF preview is available from the IEC Web Store and from the Library server, which is only for IEC National Committees.
