The power to connect
IEC helping to drive intelligence to grid at Grid ComForum
Building the next-generation power grid involves the integration of information and communication technologies into the electric power infrastructure.
The IEC will be one of the partners at the Grid ComForum. Organized by the International Engineering Consortium, a non-profit organization sponsored by universities and engineering societies and founded in 1944, the conference was born 10 years ago under the banner of the Broadband World Forum.
The Grid ComForum is aimed at power utilities, system integrators, communication service providers, regulators and policymakers who are either in the business of creating strong connection partnerships or wanting to learn more about Smart Grid technology and the impact it has on the infrastructure of electric power. It includes an impressive panel of international speakers and attendees from industry that reads like a Who's Who in Smart Grid development and deployment.
The event, which is fully supported by the IEC NC (National Committee) of the United States of America, is taking place on 2-3 February 2010 in Santa Clara, California, USA, and will include the announcement of the GridVision Awards programme that recognizes products and services that represent significant advances towards the goals of a smarter, more efficient and more reliable electric power grid.
